EWT service (along with The Market Pinball Wizard) is a must have tool for any investor. If anything, it has taught me to be more disciplined, tune out the noise, and digest the guidance and analysis put forth. I look at the service as a set of guardrails that will prevent me from making bad investment choices. Learning how to notice trends, when to sit tight and when to be outside looking in. There are several folks too with Avi that compliment his analysis. Michael and Jason (along with others) offer up incredibly accurate analysis on multiple indices and individual stocks. The service is well worth it.

I have been a member of Avi’s site for 3 years. It is where I spend my trading day. The comments I read below are a result of selection bias — this is what happens when you take a service that has 1100+ members (including many professional money managers) and only a handful write reviews. In fact several of these reviews look completely made up, as they state “facts” that did not happen.

I’ve been a subscriber of Elliott Wave Trader (EWT) for over five years. What I’ve personally witnessed through the years is nothing short of brilliant analysis by the EWT team. Did they get every twist and turn of the market correct…no. But, their outstanding TECHNICAL ANALYSIS through Elliott Wave and the application of Fibonacci pinball have provided unparalleled charting of all asset classes versus any other service imaginable. I have made more money using the analysis of EWT sentiment based analysis in five years than with all the other services combined over the past 20 years. If your an emotional and inpatient investor, EWT may not be for you. Many of the negative comments I’ve read on this site look to be of this ilk. If, however, you are shrewd, patient and calculating; then EWT is definitely your new home! Avi and his team will provide all the analysis if you wish…or they will teach you how to perform your own EW analysis. The choice is yours. Then, when the stock or market is set up properly, they will give you the knowledge and setup to make a wise investment. In short, I sleep much better at night having the insight available from Avi and his team. Go Dawgs!

Have been a subscriber for a number of years. I don’t know these people who are complaining about EWT, but I can tell you this- this site is the best you will find. There is NO ONE who is 100% right all the time. If you are looking to be right all the time, make every buy and sell perfectly, then maybe you shouldn’t be trading. I’ve found that when things go well, investors take all the credit, when things don’t go so well, they look for someone else to blame.

This is in addition to my comment below, I pressed return too soon by mistake. I used to be a big fundamental analysis guy, but now the ONLY thing I use is Avi’s Elliott Wave with his fib pinball. Using EW allows me these benefits, any one of which would be well worth the subscription price and the time I spent learning it: 1) It allows me to chart the likely path of a stock into the future with a high probability of success. If the pattern looks “iffy”, I invest in different stocks that have more stable patterns. So it keeps me out of the bad stocks and only in the good ones that reliably follow their projected patterns. 2) It allows me to compare the potential CAGR between different stocks, so I can decide which to invest in most profitably. 3) It tells me exact entry and exit points, often to within 10¢ or a dollar. I now hit the exact bottoms and tops about 75% of the time. 4) It tells me invalidation points along the way, so that if the stock does not do what I project it to do, I know to get out because it is not following the pattern. I watched Avi chart the decline in the S&P in March 2020, day by day, in real time. It was uncanny and an amazing performance. He called the bottom to within a day or two. Then he figured out what pattern was forming up since the bottom, and told us to invest, while everyone else and their dog was saying the market “couldn’t go up” because of the virus’s effects on the economy. There are only two problems with Avi’s method. One is it is probabilistic, which some people cannot wrap their heads around. He gives support zones, resistance zones, and alternative counts if the main one does not play out. You have to be able to keep one, two, or three possible counts in your head all at the same time, before one of them becomes dominant. Some people find that very difficult and just want to be told when to buy and sell. Avi doesn’t do that. The other “problem” so to speak with Avi’s method is it requires a significant amount of learning. It can take weeks to get the basics down so you can do it yourself. If you join the service and expect Avi to tell you what to do without any effort on your part, you will fail. Having said that, this was the single best decision I have ever made in my long investment career (I am near 60), to learn EW with Avi. It has made investing fun again, and very profitable. I love charting a stock into the future and then watching in amazement as it moves through my pattern, hitting every major turn. It is like wearing night vision goggles when everyone around you is blinded by the night. Well I can see now, and I will NEVER go back to investing “blind” again! Avi’s work is amazing.

Elliott Wave Trader with Avi Gilburt is the best tool I have found for investing/trading. No matter your style of market trading, you will learn with pros and the best guidance available. First of all, they cover early on how not to overleverage. This is one of the reasons I comfortably refer people there. The knowledge and technical skill you will develop with this subscription is phenomenal. I know no other reliable site that saw this major bounce off the recent bottom like this site. I managed to double my account value in 4 or 5 months. I’ve been there for 5 years and it took a little time to understand the plan, but over time, you learn what really drives markets.

So, here is the process: We look for setups. We then position to layer in these trades with proper size and risk tolerance. We then patiently stalk and let the market do what it does. Once the setup is confirmed, we can add proper sized layers with stops in case we are wrong. We then follow the numbers basically for best risk/reward selling/closing of the trade. Done right and slow with patience to learn, it can change your investment/trading life. Avi is the most responsible, possibly caring trading analyst I’ve ever encountered. He doesn’t want the flock to lose money and will beg you to be cautious. You don’t find people or groups like this.

The whole group is valuable as well. Loads of ideas and big brains. Worth the small price of admission just on that! You really can’t go wrong with Elliott Wave Trader, because we always have a plan. You can’t win every trade, but you can stop out with minimal loss in case it doesn’t pan out. Avi’s calls on metals have been near prophetic as well!

LOL to 2.7 stars.

I’ve LITERALLY 300 x ed my trading accounts since november of 2019.
and I’d be doing better if i followed the team’s advice more often.
I am retired at 31, largely due to these services. so, if you ask me, they’re clearly worth the money.

I will say this, if you wont take responsibility for your own learning, or trading behaviors, well, you’ll lose bigly, even with the best guide imaginable.

Let me address a few points mentioned in the negative comments here:

1.) “Avi’s method is not quantifiable in terms of success”
I think it has been mentioned a few hundred times during my membership at EWT that there is simply no unique method how you trade/invest based on Avi’s charts. In fact, some in the room use his signals on a day-trading basis, while others focus on the long-term long side and just hedge every now and then. There is no one-size-fits-all there, and this is made explicit from the beginning.

2) “Avi’s analysis is ambigous, because there are always more than one EW counts on his charts”
Of course, markets are probabilistic, so it would be unserious for Avi and his team members to provide definite paths that market action *must* take. Rather, what is important is that they provide you with a sane risk-framework in the form of support and resistance level that give you guidance on the risk:reward ratio when you set up a trade or a long-term investment. Besides, Avi clearly outlines the path he sees as most probable and usually provides warnings on what else might play out. I would not subscribe to a service that stubbornly sticks to a single path even when facts invalidate that path.

3) “Avi and his team just advertise their service well in terms of marketing by means of public articles”
Really? One complains that the free articles on SA contain plenty actionable information for long-term guidance? Must be a luxury problem.

4) “Avi missed the rally to 3400 at the beginning of 2020”
Well, yes, maybe. But all of us who where there in March 2020 know how Avi’s targets down to 2200 were hit one after the other.

5) Avi has subjective biases?
To be honest, I have never seen a more unbiased view of the market than Avi’s. There is not a single subjective input to his analysis, as he always applies the same method and follows his own rules, both when charting and trading. So if this is biased, I don’t know what you guys would call the 101st article that sounds like “this market must soar because the FED/the president/the jobs”…

Disclosure: I am a subscriber to Avi’s service.

Elliot Wave Trader is hands down the best trading service out there. I first came across Avi on Seeking Alpha like 3 years ago. After reading his articles on Seeking Alpha, I decided to test out his trading Service. Well fast forward to now, I’m subscribed to Stock Waves, Avi’s Market Alerts, Harry’s Hot Corner, Bayesian Analysis, Smart Money Room, Gamma Optimizer, ES trade Alerts, VIX trading, and Crypto Currency Room. The analysis on the site is soo good, its actually scary how accurate they are. I’ve learned so much from the different services and I’ve learned to tune out the talking heads on mainstream tv who are basically worthless. I would highly recommend this service. You have nothing to lose because they offer a free trial for all of their services. I’ve made good money and the services have stopped me from losing a lot of money. Again, hands down the best out there.

I have been a member of Elliott Wave Trader for over six years now, after first coming across Avi’s market analysis through Marketwatch. I came to depend on his insights so much that I needed more than the weekly analysis he posted for free on Marketwatch. Now, I can’t imagine investing without the guidance I receive from him and his team (and a number of subscribers) on a daily basis. Would strongly recommend Avi and his team to anyone looking to improve their investment returns.

Can confirm with DaddyTuna, i’m a rather new member but the things i’ve learnt since joining them is most insightful and developed my EWT skills more. If anyone can’t benefit from Avi and his team’s guidance, it’s because they don’t want to learn but want to be fed. Spending effort to better yourself as a trader, investor, money manager is part of the process and I’m glad Avi’s team is quite objective. Turning points sometimes have been magical but Avi prefers to call it voodoo. *shrug*

I have been a member of EWT/Avi’s room since ~2012/2013 time frames. It is very odd to me to have these types of comments about Avi and EWT in general because they are completely contrary to what I have experienced. However I will say that while contrary it is not unexpected. There will always be people in the financial and trading community that want a sure thing a quick way to make money (lots of it) and in as short of a time frame as possible. We all know people like this in the community and it is very common.
Take a look at the type of issues that people have with Avi and company. It is around “His call on xyz did not hit for another 100 or 200 points”. He is like an oracle who tells you the future but it never pans out. If you dont use stops and hedges you will get blown out by his bad calls. etc.. The type of complaints are indicative of the type of people who “hate” Avi.
This is what I see in the EWT that I think is good not only for professionals or very good traders but for beginners and folks who are just starting their jounrney in the Trading and Investing community.
1) They have done a very good job with beginners and newer folks on teaching fundamental skills. Such as controlling your emotions and not emotionally trading. Trading as a business rather than a hobby. Using stops for risk/loss mitigation. Sizing your trades properly and lowering/controlling/quantifying your risk. Discipline mentally and using charts properly. They take care of new people not only to the trading room but also for people who are beginners in this journey.
2) EWT also has plenty of analysts and tools to help you learn from a Technical Analysis point of view in combination with Elliottwaves at a more advanced level.
3) EWT is like a great buffet in Las Vegas. There is something for everyone. Day traders, Scalpers, Investors, Options, Futures, Money managers, Traders etc…

Ultimately it is up to you to perform but what Avi and team provides is a great road map/Charts and I must say EWT charts are pretty damn good. And he uses a consistent methodology to come up with charts and he doesnt put things on there just because he “feels” like it or he thinks it is what the Market is going to do. And isnt that what we are all looking for? Someone who has a method (And Avi’s method is pretty damn good) and can apply it to the various markets in a way that you can understand so that you can have the tools to go make money in the markets?

Plus in the years I’ve been on the website Avi is actually a decent human being who genuinely seems to care about his subscribers and he goes above and beyond.

I just finished reading every single comment in this thread. They seem to comprise three groups: (1.) people who are presently subscribed to Avi Gilburt and EWT subcategories, some of whom have been members even longer than I have, (which is really saying something!) have taken the time and effort to learn how it works, and are universal in their praise and heartfelt thanks. They are far and away the largest group. (2.) People who tried it and did not or could not get it, and who obviously did NOT take said time and effort to learn how it works and lost money or completely blew up their accounts as a direct result of their laziness/complacence/incompetence, and who then blame Avi Gilburt for THEIR failure, instead of owning their own mistakes. This is a much smaller group, by a VERY large margin. (Please read that sentence again.) Lastly, (3.) a group of about FIVE people, e.g . Martin G., ravi1971, Dr Doom, wealthywannabe, (how apt…can you say, “irony”?) and lastly, redcat, who really seem to have an axe to grind, if not to perpetrate a deliberate hit job bordering on slander, especially this redcat character. To be candid, redcat strikes me as a very disagreeable, toxic little person, but then, what do I know…I’m only a retired Clinical Psychologist who was also the CEO of two companies in New Zealand.
For several decades I was simply too busy to trade stocks, but in my last attempt to retire, (there have been four attempts and I’ve given up trying, because I’m not very good at it) I thought I’d try my hand at stock trading. I allocated $20K, subscribed to several newsletters and did what I thought was decent fundamental analysis. I was able to turn that $20K into $160K, and I thought I was pretty smart…yes, I was a real bull market genius, but then, isn’t everybody? After reading several of Avi Gilburt’s articles, I signed up for the free trial, and became a subscriber. The last I time I checked my own stats my cost basis was $1.2 million and change. I attribute that to listening to and acting upon Avi Gilburt’s advice.
If you have hearing loss, you can buy a hearing aid; if your eyesight fails, you can get glasses or Lasik surgery; if you lose a limb, you can get a prosthesis…but if you are stupid, or even worse, maliciously stupid, well, you are Simply Out of Luck, because stupid is quite permanent, and nothing can be done for you.

I did not think the information provided by this service was available at any price, much less what Avi charges. I have been a self-directed investor since 2007 and underperformed the index each and every year, and more often than not it was not even close. Since I took the time to DEVELOP A PLAN to utilize the wealth of information that Avi and his team provide, I am up 394% across all accounts, and up 207% YTD as of 9/21. I would never have believed it possible. This service has profoundly changed the way I view markets, and even aspects of life itself.

I’ve followed Avi Gilburt for years on Seeking Alpha and have subscribed to his Marketplace Pinball Wizard service since it’s inception. Avi is a professional that truly cares about his members. His availability is unmatched… I swear he never sleeps. You won’t find a better team, anywhere! Combine a basic knowledge of Elliott Wave with common sense and you’ll do very well. Learn Elliott Wave and the sky’s the limit! I’ll be a member for life!

What you are saying is that you simply cannot believe how many people are actually making good money from our work. lol

I showed my members this site, and they began posting to let people know how well they have done with us. And, many of those that have posted here have been with us for many years.

No. What I am saying is that out of the blue, suddenly everyone decides to give rave reviews to just this specific service. Seems very suspicious.

I admit I went over to check your site out, then I checked reviews for other services on gumshoe. It is very uncommon for there to be more than a review per month for any specific service.

Also strange that a switch flipped and all the reviews went from so – so to everyone trippling their money.

If there is one thing members of this site should know (though I have not been a member for that long) it is to spot the red flags.

Seeing lots of red.

Agree all these comments and five star ratings landing in the last couple of days can only be a massive red flag to any potential joiners of this subscription service.
Its been done in such an amateurish way that its probably counter productive.

So, let me get this straight. When I saw reviews on here that were outright lying, I told my members about it a few days ago and they came over and provided reviews over the last few days. What is wrong with that?

Or, maybe your perspective of this site is to only write bad reviews about our work (even if they are lies), but when our actual members come here to tell the truth, they are not to be believed?

Heads you win, tails I lose. Nice.

You can believe whatever you want to believe, but I know each and every one of these names as members of my services, some of whom have been with me for over 5 years.

And, if anyone really wants to know the truth, we offer a FREE TRIAL for a reason. They can make their own decision, and then see for themselves if these people are real or not, and then make their own decision about how good we are. Like I said, there is a reason we are over 6000 members within 9 years. And, our members have explained why right in these pages.

I have been thinking about joining but would like to find out how long it takes to get up to speed – assuming that I do put in the time and effort to learn (as I understand this i not a “do this – sell this – buy this” service), how long does it take on average to get up to speed to get my feet wet and put in small trades? I am not just trying to understand the timeline and manage my own expectations. Since so many members are posting here – would love some feedback Thanks much.

Poppy,

After teaching thousands of members through the years (we now have over 6000 active members), I can honestly tell you that there is no one set answer.

Some people can put in the time and pick it up within a couple of months. Others can take as long as year. And, there are those that just won’t get it. It does happen, which is why I freely admit we will not be for everyone.

But, to aid in your learning process, we have recently started a “Beginners Circle,” to which we have one of our analysts solely devoted, wherein he works with newer members through their learning process.

So, at the end of the day, it all depends upon the individual. But, I can tell you that those who do delve into it provide me with the same comment over and over – – “it’s life changing.”

Good luck to you, whatever your choice.

I have been a part of The Market Pinball Wizard for a year now. Avi and Michael put 110% into their analysis every single day. They provide alternate counts to watch as well so you are ready for pretty much anything the stock market throws at you. I have had great success with this service and made alot of money for myself and clients. IF you do not have this service or EWT (Elliott Wave Trader) you are doing yourself a BIG disservice. I am a member for LIFE!

What is the difference between Market Pinball Wizard and Eliotwavetradet.net? I have had free trials to Avi’s alert and stock waves at Eliot wave trader. Et and now am trying Market Pinball Wizard. They both seem to have the same teams. I find the Market Pinball in the two days I have seen (as well as the free columns on Seeking Alpha) easier to u derstand, less grape oriented but I can’t tell if that is because there is less information. I am only interested in general market trends and stocks/etfs. I would be very grateful to any insight on this subject.

I have spent over $3k for a year subscription at more than 1 service and they were not worth a plug nickel, especially compared to Avi’s service. Which I rate 5 stars out of 5 stars. You just don’t find someone who is honest, desires to help everyone make money, and you have immediate access to during market hours… many times after hours too! I get that many just want to be told what to buy and sell, but when the market drops like it did last Feb-Mar, the account goes deep in the hole. It’s much better to be warned up front and be mostly in cash than trying to fight your way out of that. Many thanks Avi!!!
