HRA is written by the Coffin brothers, and covers junior miners, mainly in gold but occassionally also in silver, uranium and such. It is largely based on site visits, but also on professional interpretations of published drilling results. Their coverage is not complete, as there are numerous junior exploration companies, but they generally screen for financial soundness, management quality, (suspected) size of the deposit and such. Their picks have made me a lot of money: East Asia, Kaminak, and such. It is accepted wisdom that you should always invest in a basket of juniors, not in a few supposed top picks. The top-of-the-line service, which includes Alerts and such, is expensive at $2000 p.a., but I have made that many times over. HRA is for investors who accept the speculative nature of exploration plays. I basically follow a barbell investment philosophy: solid dividend-paying (Canadian) utilities and trusts, and speculative gold plays. IMHO HRA is the best newsletter on junior gold plays, and I intend to renew my subscription.

I managed to read and invest in some of recommended explorers. Mr Coffin knows what to look for, knows talent when he sees it , and makes good recommendations. He is in a select group of experts in this space IMO.
