Volatility is the name of the game with small-caps but if you have the stomach for it you can make a profit with careful trading. I’ve been testing this service since I started with it last April. As of today here are my results:
Invested a total of about $6993
Only traded 6 of the 9 stocks offered.
Realized and unrealized profit as of today is about $4827.
My advice is to scoop up some of these during December for decent gains in January. And hopefully, rinse and repeat.
Back again after a long absence. I noticed someone voted 1-star for this and I’m perplexed. I’m WAY up with this service, and my portfolio has increased by MANY multiples! I have all of what Crowdability has to offer but this service has blown away all of the others. Whoever voted 1-star must be impatient and expecting their picks to moon before sundown. I’m a VERY happy subscriber and I’m surprised no one else notices this gem of a service.
As mgchute said, volatility is extreme in the stocks recommended by this service, so you have to have the stomach for that. I have several Crowdability services and a couple from other publishers so I cannot easily measure performance for each exactly but I have had some major successes with stocks recommended by Lou Basenese. For example I have positions in Atomera (ATOM) from May 2019 with some purchased @$2.67, $3.66 and a bunch more at higher levels. It went up into the 40s where we sold some and he then advised closing the position in Feb 2021 in the low 30s. Now advising to buy back in for a target at $5o to as high as a $100 possibly if they get bought out.
Other positions are down 50-60% so there are certainly losers but he gives frequent updates and stresses that these are investments and key is to work into positions and keep some cash to take advantage of the huge swings to average down.
My opinion is that Microcap Confidential is the best of three investment advice services offered by Altimetry.com, even though it is the middle-priced one. It is so good that in hawking their higher end service (High Alpha), they lift recommendations made by MC into the presentation and imply they were made by High Alpha.
That said, I personally still find it weak for the price. To make it really worthwhile, I have had to apply strategies from my own expertise to juice the returns on their recommendations, and that shouldn’t be needed for a service this expensive. It is a better service for an experienced investor. For the general individual investor, there are other services that provide more bang for the buck.
If you are considering this newsletter, be aware that microcaps are, in general, more vulnerable in tight credit environments.
