“The Obama Stimulus — Life-Changing Investments” Motley Fool

by Travis Johnson, Stock Gumshoe | October 26, 2009 9:14 pm

“The TRUTH About the Obama Stimulus…

“When Ronald Reagan[1] signed his $750 billion stimulus plan in 1981, it snapped the U.S. out of a deep recession, ignited a high-tech revolution, and signaled the start of the greatest bull market in history…

“Today, Obama’s stimulus plan could offer even more potential for investors. Because this little-understood government spending spree is highly focused and promises to “accelerate” payouts to a select group of high-tech companies — creating a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for quick and substantial gains”

That’s the gist of the opportunity that the folks at the Motley Fool[2] believe lies before us today — and if you subscribe to their Stock Advisor[3] newsletter, they’d be happy to share the specific companies they like best to profit from this theme. But of course, they also share a few clues with us … so what are the stocks we should be buying, per the Gardner brothers?

“Last year was a brutal year for investors. Because for years, the so-called “professionals” on Wall Street played roulette with YOUR money.

“And even though they touched off the biggest financial meltdown in history, they’re rewarding themselves with $18 billion in bonuses to rebuild THEIR fortunes! A staggering $112,000 per employee.

“But who’s looking out for you? Who’s going to help build YOUR wealth?

“You, that’s who… with our help…

“Remember, Wall Street is up against the ropes. Congress and the SEC are constantly knocking on their door with new subpoenas.

“Now’s the time to beat them to the punch and snap up the 3 life-changing investments you’ll read about just ahead…

* “The high-tech monopoly poised to gobble up millions in stimulus
* “The energy company that’s primed for super growth in the coming natural gas[4] boom
* “The rock-solid telecommunications firm whose circuits are found in today’s most popular devices”

So those are our three little gems to search for. Some more clues?

“Here at The Motley Fool, we’re reading the fine print of Obama’s stimulus plan.

“And zeroing in on a small group of nontraditional companies that could grow your money for years to come.

“So let’s take a quick look at each of these incredible investments… starting with our first company, which is in the sector the U.S. Department of Labor estimates will generate 3 million new jobs by 2016.

“And by 2010, Americans will be faithfully handing over $2.6 trillion each year to companies in this industry… Here’s how you can profit from this phenomenon:

“With the high-tech monopoly poised to gobble up millions in stimulus

“… it’s no wonder that the biggest chunk (over $80 billion) of Obama’s stimulus plan will go toward improving our health care system. Because we’re going to need it…..

“And here’s how you can profit from Obama’s massive investment in health care: by investing in this high-tech private sector company that could win big government stimulus contracts for digitizing health records.

“Though this might seem mundane on the surface… it’s a complicated process that only a few companies know how to do. And digitizing health records makes health care more efficient and saves hospitals and the government billions of dollars each year….

“And this high-tech company is in the perfect position to cash in. It’s gobbled up a huge market share of the health care IT business, with 70% of the nation’s leading hospitals already using its systems and software.

“It develops and installs electronic systems that eliminate the need for paper prescriptions and paper medical records providing doctors with easy and secure online access to patient information — lowering costs and improving care.

“And so far it’s been working. This company prevents more than 330,000 medication errors every week through technology that helps to ensure the right patient gets the right drug at the right time.

“Plus its ties to the Obama Administration practically guarantee it a boatload of new business once Congress floods the economy with hundreds of billions — the bulk of the remaining stimulus….

“I can’t wait to give you this company’s name and ticker symbol — all the important details and how much you can expect to make when it takes off — but out of respect for our members, I have to give all this to you in the form of a brand-new special report…”

Your friendly neighborhood Stock Gumshoe, of course, has no such reservations … and I can tell you that this is McKesson Corp (MCK). I was a little surprised to discover this, actually, since the Motley Fool has made boosterism for Quality Systems (QSII)[5] somewhat of a cottage industry in recent years, constantly touting it as one of Tom Gardner[6]’s most successful picks (which it was — he’s been recommending it for several hundred percentage points in gains). The last time I covered that one, I think, was when it was touted as a way to profit from Obama’s 100-day profit plan[7] (the stock is up about 50% from that point).

But QSII is a relatively small electronic health records company — McKesson is a big fish, with pharmaceutical data a big part of their business, and they do claim to help avoid more than 330,000 medication mistakes thanks to their barcode technology. They started out as a pharmaceutical wholesaler and have branched out into healthcare[8] IT and other areas — and they are very engaged in the healthcare reform[9] legislative process, releasing white papers with recommendations for the various task forces and, I’m sure, talking the ears off of anyone involved in the debate.

And it is certainly a profitable and growing business, arguably with a reasonable valuation for the blue chipper of the sector — it’s a market cap of about $16 billion, and a forward PE ratio of about 13, not bad for growth that’s expected to be better than 10% a year (their earnings shrunk year over year, but they’re certainly not alone in that). It seems unlikely that McKesson is going to knock your socks off, since it’s already a huge company with 17 analysts covering the shares and it’s core business is in wholesaling, which tends to have veryt ight margins. But if you think health care digitization and electronic recordkeeping and tracking of pharmaceuticals will be a growth area, this is certainly a solid choice in the sector, particularly for those who are a bit more risk-averse. It’s likely to be a lot more stable than the popular smaller-cap medical records digitization companies like Quality Systems or athenahealth (ATHN) or their other competitors, which trade at far loftier valuations.

As you’ve noticed if you’re reading this shortly after it was written, I’m well behind schedule today, so I’ll delve into the other two Fool ideas in this ad tomorrow — have a great evening!

The Motley Fools may wish to say that “for years, the so-called “professionals” on Wall Street played roulette with YOUR money”. However they did not mention this prior to the Dow meltdown at the end of 2008, and the Motley Fools remained bullish/foolhardy for the entirety of the the early quarters of 2008.

Not about this item but intrigued by the recent Taipan ‘Foreclosure Slips.’ can find little after research so wonder if anybody (Gumshoe?) has any idea what they are other than certificates associated with late tax payments. Thanks guys.

    A Lewis-

It’s kinda unfair to point out a meltdown timeframe for when the Fool “remained” bullish, since, well, they’re permabulls. They have always, and still, maintain the same view as Buffet– that their preferred holding period is “forever”. All of their newsletters suggest to buy in periodic chunks, and ideally hold forever. Would you criticize Buffet’s long positions still held in 2008 (and ignore every other year he’s held unwaveringly)? It’s the same deal with the Fool.

Special Report: U.S. Foreclosures Hit Record High
New Gov’t-Regulated $1 “Foreclosure Slips” Poised to Soar 3,980%*
By Zachary Scheidt, Editor, Death Cross Trader

Now you could turn the ongoing mortgage crisis into a seven-figure fortune… without the risks and hassles of owning property.
*But you must act before November 19, 2009 for a chance at maximum gains…

    There’s blood in the water…

    .. the sharks are circling…

.. and a whole new generation of real estate millionaires is about to be born.

In fact, thanks to aggressive U.S. government programs designed to help BANKS unload distressed properties… savvy investors are grabbing up prime real estate for pennies on the dollar…

And while most of these U.S. Treasury-backed opportunities are earmarked for institutional investors willing to buy, hold and manage troubled real estate…

… I’ve uncovered a simple way for ordinary folks to make a real estate fortune… in record time… WITHOUT the risks or hassles of owning property.

I’m talking about owning new $1 government-regulated “Foreclosure Slips”… which in my opinion are the single most lucrative — and easiest — way to profit from the ongoing mortgage crisis.

(By the way, these are NOT “tax liens”…)

Not only are “Foreclosure Slips” completely liquid (you can buy and sell them with a simple two-minute phone call)…
The Ultimate U.S. Government-Regulated Wealth Builder
New $1 government-regulated “Foreclosure Slips” give ordinary investors a way to make a potential fortune from the mortgage crisis… without the risks and hassles of buying property.

Take a look at the returns recent issues of “Foreclosure Slips” generated:

    “FS-Series Z-1-2009”: 1,300% in four months

    “FS-Series X-2-2009”: 1,700% in three months
    “FS-Series K-3-2009”: 1,400% in one week

    “FS-Series J-4-2009”: 1,380% in four months

    “FS-Series Q-5-2009”: 1,700% in four months

    “FS-Series R-6-2009”: 558% in five months

    “FS-Series H-7-2009”: 570% in four months

With $1.2 trillion in government funding ready to pour into the mortgage market by March 2010… the next issue of “Foreclosure Slips” could make early investors very wealthy. Read this entire letter to discover how to buy government-regulated “Foreclosure Slips” today… and give yourself a chance to turn $10,000 into as much as $398,000 by March 2010…

    Source: The Wall Street Journal/MarketWatch

… but they also have the potential to soar as much as 40-fold… EVEN if real estate prices continue to fall.

The other great thing is, “Foreclosure Slips” allow investors to make profits quickly… in a matter of weeks or months… instead of years, as is usually the case with real estate.

In fact, a recent issue of “Foreclosure Slips” jumped 1,400%… in one week… even as nationwide real estate markets floundered.

    Another issue jumped 1,700%…

And yet another issue climbed 1,380%…

With $1.2 TRILLION in U.S. government funding ready to pour into the mortgage market by March 2010… the next issue of “Foreclosure Slips” is poised to put the above gains to shame…

Imagine transferring $10,000 into new $1 U.S. government-regulated “Foreclosure Slips” today… only to wake in a few months’ time to find them worth a staggering $398,000…

That’s the exact potential of the opportunity I’m going to share with you today. The nice thing is, you can get started with “Foreclosure Slips” for as little as $350… and still have a chance to collect staggering quadruple-digit returns.

In the following pages, I’ll tell you all about U.S. government-regulated “Foreclosure Slips.”

In addition, I’ll show you why today’s mortgage crisis offers an unprecedented opportunity for ordinary investors to make a quick fortune… without the risks or hassles of owning property.

I’ll also explain why “Foreclosure Slips” could soar 40-fold… even if real estate prices continue to drop.

Plus, I’ll show you why $1 “Foreclosure Slips” could skyrocket as early as December 15th… turning every $1 you invest into $15… $25… even $40 or more!

    There Is One Catch, However…

When I first heard about “Foreclosure Slips,” I was a bit skeptical. Until now, my experience with real estate has been limited to my own house (which is down quite a bit lately!).

And quite frankly, real estate worries me. I mean, who knows if the real estate market will ever fully recover?

Consequently, I almost wrote this opportunity off at first glance.

But because of the astronomical profit potential “Foreclosure Slips” offer, I decided to take a closer look.

After six months of extensive research and due diligence… I can tell you that not only are “Foreclosure Slips” for real… they are an ABSOLUTE MUST for nearly every investor’s portfolio.

“Foreclosure Slips” can allow you to reap huge potential rewards… without the risks or hassles of owning property.

And the best part is, “Foreclosure Slips” can offer quick, explosive gains… regardless of which direction real estate prices go. I’ll demonstrate why in a moment.

But here’s the thing: During my months of research, we’ve hit a “trigger point”… government money is pouring in fast… and you must act now to get in on the ground floor.

In fact, on September 23, 2009, the Federal Reserve announced that a total of $1.25 trillion (that’s TRILLION) will flow into the mortgage market in the coming weeks.

    Think about that…

Remember: a recent issue of “Foreclosure Slips” jumped 1,400% in just one week… and the next issue could literally help turn early investors into millionaires.

I’ll show you how to pick up a few “Foreclosure Slips” in just a moment. But first, let me explain why this opportunity is so lucrative…

    Proven Historical Formula
Crisis Real Estate = New Millionaires

Investing in real estate used to be a “no-brainer.” And with good reason. After all, history has proven that real estate is the ultimate wealth-building machine.

More people on the Forbes list of “The 400 Richest Americans” made their money from real estate than from stocks, telecom, technology or software.

And it’s not just the super-wealthy who have done well in real estate. Countless Americans have built tidy fortunes with simple real estate investments.

Hands down, real estate has proven itself to be the easiest and most reliable way for ordinary folks to get rich.
“…’Foreclosure Slips’ are an absolute MUST for your portfolio”
“The ongoing real estate crisis offers unprecedented opportunity for individual investors. If you’re serious about investing, you really need to have at least a small portion of your portfolio in ‘Foreclosure Slips.'”

    – Michael Robinson, Pulitzer prize nominee and award-winning financial journalist and author

Robert Allen, best-selling financial author of Creating Wealth, says, “Real estate is a vehicle that takes a person to wealth.”

And David Bach, New York Times best-selling author of The Automatic Millionaire states, “The fact is, you aren’t really in the game of building wealth until you own some real estate.”

    But is this still true?

Given real estate’s recent collapse… is it still a lucrative investment?

    The answer is YES!

Here’s an IMPORTANT FACT most people don’t understand:

    Pennies on the Dollar

The best time to buy real estate is during a CRISIS… NOT during a boom.

The fortunes of tomorrow… will be made by people who buy assets for pennies on the dollar… TODAY!

There have only been two periods in history with similar wealth-building opportunity to what we have today.

    Consider the Great Depression…

Back in the 1930s, people couldn’t afford to pay their mortgages.

The banks ended up having to take possession of scores of properties they didn’t want…

In order to get rid of the properties, the banks were willing to sell for pennies on the dollar…

People with the foresight to step in and buy ended up making a fortune.

In fact, Joseph Kennedy, Sr., the patriarch of the Kennedy family, made a fortune buying distressed real estate for pennies on the dollar during the 1930s.

The S&L crisis of the 1980s is another example…

Back in the 1980s, S&Ls got in trouble by making risky loans to people who couldn’t afford them.

The S&Ls took got crushed when folks defaulted.

As a result, the S&Ls ended up unloading properties for pennies on the dollar… and people got rich.

In some cases, people became BILLIONAIRES…

Today’s crisis is very similar to the S&L crisis… only the opportunities are even better for early investors.

Just consider the five-step formula from both the Great Depression and the S&L Crisis:
    Banks made risky mortgage loans
People defaulted on their mortgage loans
    Foreclosures spiked
Banks unloaded properties for pennies on the dollar
    Early investors made millions
The same thing is happening today… and this time… thanks to “Foreclosure Slips”… you can get a piece of the action, without the risks and hassles of owning property.

    History Repeating Itself
    Are “Foreclosure Slips” Ethical?
“Foreclosure Slips” allow you to make money, WITHOUT seizing another person’s property. That’s because “Foreclosure Slips” are driven in large part by government spending.

“Foreclosure Slips” are helping bring new capital money into the real estate market… and are also helping purge the broken mortgage system. Bottom line: “Foreclosure Slips” offer a win-win situation!

According to BusinessWeek magazine, many of the players who made fortunes during the S&L crisis — Leon Black, Barry Sternlicht and Tom Barrack — are already licking their chops at the opportunities available today.

And Time magazine reports that some industry experts believe that returns from today’s crisis could rival the huge profits made during the S&L crisis when investors picked up assets for pennies on the dollar.

“The similarities are huge,” says Bob Bach, chief economist with Grubb & Ellis Co., a commercial real estate services and investment company.

Veteran investor Bill Bartmann recently told Reuters that “the U.S. Treasury’s toxic assets clean-up plan is the greatest market opportunity since the savings & loan crisis.”

“He should know: Bartmann made a fortune snapping up distressed loans from the wreckage of failed S&Ls in 1991,” Reuters reports.

“The current crisis is creating a whole new playing field and, with that, a whole new opportunity,” Bartmann said. “It’s going to be a bigger opportunity this time than last crisis.”

Bottom line: The smart money — the guys who know how to make big money during a real estate crisis — are getting involved.

    You should do the same…

And thanks to new government-regulated “Foreclosure Slips,” you can give yourself a shot at a real estate fortune — up to a 4,000% return — without the risks and hassles of owning property.

    Here’s how…
    Foreclosures

  5. unlearned says:

from the looks of it, and I don’t have a lot of time to look over it, but it appears to be T-Notes,
which are non interest bearing government backed. With inflation running amuck, it is possible that their are T-notes set to expire soon, which could have a phenominal interest rate in comparrison to todays market, so his “gains” might include the semi-annual intrest payed out over the length of the note and the final payout of the note which could in effect give you those type of gains.
    Just a thought.

Hoax: U.S. Treasury (government backed foreclosure slips). To to:
    http://www.treas.gov/
The U.S. Treasury program described by Matthew Simons in the wealth tips newsletter from Taipan Publishing Group does NOT exist. Looks like another repackaging of toxic foreclosed mortgages and the U.S. Treasury is not involved or the information would be on their official website.
