I,ve found this site excellent for stopping me investing in stocks or getting hooked into subscription sites that intially sound great but Gumshoes highlights the pitfalls as well.
The best value for any investment advisory as long as you enjoy ready the content and have a firm grasp on investment fundamentals and can think independently.
This is the only active subscription I have now, but it gets dedicated reading. Of the few market actions taken from something mentioned in the letter, I suppose it’s close to a draw…some losses…some gains. I do, however, get ideas that lead to further searches that sometimes yield profits. I have dabbled in the market for some 55 years now…seen a lot of ups and downs…never made a fortune, but market involvement has contributed nicely to a comfortable net worth in the late evening years for my wife and me.
Only one to subscribe; precise, good analysis and history, no hype and the quality of additional contributors including comments are educated.
When I’m tempted by the enticing copywriting of some Newsletters, I am reminded of the losses that followed. I am a very small investor and looking for Dollar stock tips that will give an immediate return, it doesn’t work.
I was blessed by finding Stock Gumshoe’s “No Hype” analysis and Travis’s easy to read and agree with commentary.
The VALUE of this newsletter is a real Treasure.
Other than Motley Fool, I trust no other newsletter, that are all in it for themselves. Travis has been on a crusade to bring honor and integrity to financial newsletters.
Makes me read things that I normally would not. Thanks.
This is the only newsletter I subscribe to any more. I guess I am getting older and see the hype in all the other newsletters. Thanks so much for your hard work.
If you could only own ONE newsletter, Stock Gumshoe should be your choice, it is the best value on the web.
Overall rating 4.o?!?!?! Man, this is a tuff crowd. Travis’ work is always enjoyable, well written, interesting, entertaining, educational – I can go on and on listing superlatives but I’ll stop here. Frankly, I don’t how he does it. Never, ever, does an issue disappoint. I can’t even imagine the amount of work Travis does to produce his letters. Real genius. I am awestruck.
Great information and modesty priced
Worth EVERY penny because it’s saved me much money and time!
Why I enjoy. I’m such a gullible person, and Travis brings reality back, which is very satisfying. I am always amused after he very methodically takes the hype out of the ridiculous exaggerations of other newsletters. What a wonderful antidote in this era of negative news.
Of the three investment letters to which I subscribe, the one I value most is this one for its detailed, no nonsense completely objective analysis without any hype whatsoever–so refreshing! 🙂 . I go to this when I receive a paid-for recommendation from the other two newsletters in case Travis has analyzed it before I decide whether or not to invest. Every day, I look forward to Travis’ insights and often scan what others have responded to the topic. Kudos, Travis!
I’ve used this and I’ve made some money, however that’s not the reason I purchased a subscription to Stock Gumshoe. I purchased this to find out about all these “wonderful” opportunities out there and Stock Gumshoe has saved me alot of money from getting into these scam opportunities. I have screwed up a few times still and have purchased a few “great deals, too good to pass up” , didn’t listen to Stock Gumshoe and as a result wasted money on fancy name advisory subscriptions. I have paid for about 10 different advisory services in the past, if you would send me 50% of the cost of those services then I would make money and you would save 50% of the subscription cost……………………………………………. Thanks Stock Gumshoe.
WHAT HAS THE RETURN OF THIS NEWSLETTER AVERAGED 3 MONTHS, 9 MONTHS, 1 YEAR & 2 YEARS?
Decoding Super Dividends
My only consistent go-to for ~ 8 years. None of the accolades are misrepresented – however as a content writer & clinical academic, I know that personally, it’s the constructive critic that I most appreciate. Also gilding lilies make for eyebrows (i.e., border collies, Oreo ice cream, Jack White, Darwin, ‘The Lament’ as read by Dylan Thomas – all a few of my favorite things, but none are a 10). I’d rate SGS at a solid 4.75 to 4.8 overall (out of 5).
Minor nip & tucks submitted for your approval (consideration):
[Queue spooky Rod Serling’s T-Zone soundtrack – HERE]
1. NEWSLETTER ROUND UP:
Mondo useful. I used to use Hulbert for a Truth Serum, but the SGS newsletter drawdown is great.
Here’s the case I make for a tweak or two:
1. With 100’s of newsletters
2. The ‘grey-hats ’, are mostly obvious, but some are disturbingly subtle
3. Filtering for 4/5 * (or whatever), is useful vetting, but the inclusion of the valence of the ranking, would be very helpful if it were to appear upon filtration.
For example, today, I filtered for 5* newsletters, & got 15 hits.
The relative value of the scores is only discernible upon opening the individual item.
It’d be swell to see the # of reviews on which a score was based up front.
A date of inception would be an added perk.
Thanks,
(Long-winded, & un-edited, I know)

This is my go to place when i need to know whether I should even consider getting a new subscription or not. Travis has saved me a small fortune to date. I plan on signing up as a irregular soon. By far the best free newsletter out there. You actually get actionable info minus the jargon and hype.
Love these guys. I can’t bevel that they only have a 4. I think maybe there is a glitch as their individual rankings for each category are all 5 . One of the best places to get unbiased info
I still don’t understand what I get from subscribing anyone?
